Engineer Killed in Wreck Near Ironton Missouri

A fast northbound St Louis Iron Mountain and Southern train derailed on a sharp curve near Ironton Missouri. Engineer W J Edy of St Louis was killed, fireman George Ricard of De Soto seriously injured, others bruised. Baggage mail car and two coaches plunged into an embankment. passengers largely unharmed.

Train wreck in Missouri leaves two dead

Springfield Missouri July 2 Thirty people were injured in a partial wreck of a west bound St Louis and San Francisco train. Two fatally injured were Ro J Thorp of Monticello Missouri and Mrs Kate Shelley. The crash was caused by a defective switch. Three coaches passed over safely while the fourth derailed and overturned. The smoking car stayed on track and most passengers sustained minor injuries.

George P. Brock former cashier of the Doylestown National Bank was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment at hard labor by Judge McPherson in Philadelphia. Black man Poindexter dies in related incident at Plaquemine

Plaquemine La July 7 Robert Poindexter a Black man died in a related incident here today. Poindexter and Black Diamond Rigsby, both Black, fatally struck two members of the Busto family last winter and, while being pursued here by train, Rigsby fatally injured Sheriff Petit and his guard before being killed by a passenger.
