Government claims the revolt is crushed, but reports indicate active rebel action on the northern coast. A powerful northerly storm swept Washington delivering 78 mile per hour winds tearing roofs and trees, injuring four men at a damaged two story brick building near Twenty-fifth street and Pennsylvania avenue. A horse was killed by a falling tree, a lightning strike damaged structures on Connecticut avenue and Kalorama road, and several buildings suffered partial or complete roof loss. One resident, Albert McIlveen, was hospitalized after his horse bolted and he was found in a hysterical state. The episode disrupted traffic and caused widespread alarm.
