Worth Two Millions Courts Must Decide Issue
Senator Gorman and L Victor Baughman present a statement to the Maryland Senate on the value of the State holdings in the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. They contend the Washington Branch, its accrued dividends, and the $1,260,000 federal appropriation push the State’s interest toward about two million, though some senators favor a lower figure. The report urges detailed accounting of branch receipts, expenditures, and real estate to determine value and future earning potential, with a cautious stance until questions are settled.
