Miss Martha Bowers daughter of the late Lloyd W. Bowers solicitor general United States suffered serious injuries when her horse bolted during a ride with Miss Taft and Miss Vincent in Rock Creek Park. The horse was killed after crashing into a streetcar on Sixteenth Street near U Street NW. Bowers, treated at Dr Taylor's home, was moved to Garfield Hospital where doctors reported she is not in critical condition.
