Calls Charity a Duty Dr Glushak Addresses Hebrew Relief Society

Dr L Glushak an anatomy and surgery instructor at Georgetown University told the Hebrew Relief Society meeting at Adath Israel Synagogue that poverty should be abolished from speech and that charity is a duty not a virtue. He urged hospitals be free of charge and cited a patient's humiliation in seeking aid via the District Board of Charities. The gathering reelected officers led by Marcus Korman who received a loving cup for his fifth presidency as the society, eight years old, plans broader membership and continued relief work with new board members joining.
