Convicted Wife-murderer McCue to Hang in Charlottesville
The Supreme Court refused a writ of error in the case of Samuel McCue, condemned for the September 4, 1901 murder of his wife, with a two week hang date. He wept in his cell after news, stating he would seek justice in heaven as his attorney’s supplementary appeal failed. The ruling, by Judge Keith, found no error and affirmed McCue’s guilt, noting the evidence points unerringly to him and criticizing juror admissibility rulings.
