Hot Primaries Seek Delegates for National Convention
A fierce Washington primary for Republican district delegates to the national convention is promised by leaders. Some 40 aspirants contend as candidates set and methods undecided. Changes may include one ballot for all candidates and a centralized expense fund. District boundaries from 1871 may be revised to fit population growth. Two delegates and two alternates to the national committee are elected. A younger GOP faction aims to boost the District’s influence at the next convention.
