Pitcairn Coal sues B&O for car allotment bias
The Pitcairn Coal Company of Clarksburg West Virginia sues the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in U S Circuit Court seeking a mandamus to force car allotments for coal shipments. It accuses the railroad of favoring companies controlled by the railroad and using “individual cars” to exclude independents while demanding an allotment of one and seven tenths of service cars in a scarcity.
