Orme Estate Securities Interpreted As Part Of Personal Estate
Justice Stafford interprets the will of James W. Orme and rules the securities found in envelopes marked for six sons are not gifts in causa mortis. A testamentary trust is created for the six sons with real estate and personal assets held until the youngest reaches age of majority, while preserving the widow Mrs Orme's legal rights.

River Forms A Lake In Southern California Basin
The United States Geological Survey orders an immediate survey of the Basin in Southern California known as Satton Sink or Satton Sea to map the former great lake area fed by the Colorado River. Changes in river course have redirected inflows, enlarging the salt marsh into a lake forty to fifty miles long, rising about an inch daily. The survey aims to chart towns, channels, and topography to estimate the cost of refilling the basin if the river’s course remains altered.
