In Hagerstown Maryland on January 14 post-office inspector F F Sharron arrested four individuals for sending written matter at fourth class rates via mail. They pleaded guilty and each paid the minimum ten dollar fine. The mailings involved cigar and tobacco prize tags and labels sent to a tobacco company in Winston Salem North Carolina. Veteran commits death by own action at Soldiers Home
Special to the Washington Post from Newport News Virginia reports seventy four year old Christian Koch, a member of Company K at the National Soldiers Home, died in the cellar of his quarters in a self strangulation.
