Green's Plea Refused Trial Set For January 12

Nathaniel Green the accused in the assault on Mrs. Adelaide W. Grant appeared in Criminal Court No. 3. A new legal point was raised over whether a guilty plea can be limited by the court in capital punishment cases. The court argued it would be up to the jury to decide capital punishment, not the judge. The defense indicated an appeal possible if convicted.
