Governor Urges Reform Measures In Late Campaign Address
In a fiery opening of the state legislature, Governor Herrick urged reform aligned with his opponent’s positions. He criticized lobbying and the so called milking bills, called for primaries on a single day, and pressed for municipal reform, tax changes, and stronger mine and forest protections. He warned against outside influence and urged rigid measures to curb lobby activity.
