Professor Wiley Teaches How to Detect Real Whisky Blends
Prof Wiley chief of the Bureau of Chemistry told the House committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce that blended whiskies are often adulterated with caramel, burnt sugar, or flavor extracts. He demonstrated by making a fake Scotch and a Bourbon from common stock, showing many products labeled whisky are not pure. He urged bottled in bond whisky standards and noted that most so called blended whiskies are inferior and adulterated. He planned further talks on the subject before the committee in coming days.

Strong Reasons for Judicial Review of Rates Debate
Advocates urge broad court review of Interstate Commerce Commission actions, arguing that without it, rate rebates and routing abuses in citrus freight would persist. The orange routing case, tied to Hepburn railroad-rate bill debate, highlights how narrow statutory readings could shield illegal rebates and hamper shippers' rights and public welfare.
