Rise and fall of J Whitaker Wright in high finance
A London report details J Whitaker Wright's epic rise from a Teadville broker to a major financier with the London and Globe Finance Corporation. It notes assets shrinking from an estimated 14.5 million to about 2.58 million, a massive unsecured debt, and a fatal court outcome. Wright died of poison moments after a seven year prison sentence for fraud, ending one of Britain's most infamous financial collapses.
