Police Split In Court Case Unique In The District

In a District police court case, four Fourth precinct officers testified for the prosecution while fifteen were summoned for the defense as witnesses in Saloonkeeper Frank P. Hall’s trial. The defense claimed entrapment and paid informants, while Capt Williams and other officers suggested internal removal if bias existed. The incident centered on Hall’s Seventh and Estresia southwest saloon and a warrant issued the day after the alleged sting.
