Memorial to Gibbons Adds to University Structure
Catholic officials unveil plans for a grand memorial hall at Catholic University to honor James Cardinal Gibbons for fifty years in the priesthood and twenty five in the cardinalate. The project, funded by Catholic donors nationwide, envisions a prominent Michigan Avenue frontage West of the university with the aim of serving educational purposes and enduring tribute. Clergy and laity nationwide praise the memorial as a fitting testament to his life and influence in Catholic education and church leadership.
