Rich Man Artist in Secret Revealed at Art Institute

A Chicago millionaire Edward Burgess Butler kept his artistic talent hidden for three years until the Fifteenth annual Chicago artists exhibit exposed him as the painter of landscapes under an assumed name. His identity came to light amid widespread interest and bids from collectors. Butler, a noted philanthropist and reformer, had little time for painting before his late flowering talent. Meanwhile Flynn's Hall hosted a United Spanish War Veterans gathering with eight new members mustered in.
