New York aldermen voted 37 to 2 against restricting hat pin length for women. Alderman Dowling, Tammany leader, said police and military couldn't curb the nuisance and suggested a state bill to ban hat pins. He argued the city would seem ridiculous enforcing such limits.
Mrs George Graham Rice was granted a Reno Nevada divorce after testifying for an hour about marital woes. She claimed Rice held a controlling stake in Scheftels Co and in Reno Auto Livery, and that he already had a wife when they married. She and her daughter were longtime Goldfield Reno residents.
