Prominent New York woman charged by stenographer

A well regarded New York socialite, Mrs Jeanne Trautman, wife of Dr A wander Trautman, was charged after a security guard reported a man accosted him in a Fifth Avenue hallway and robbed him of 313. The accuser, Peter Jolgan, identified Mrs Trautman as the suspect in a shopping district incident. Mrs Trautman, who had walked from Carnegie Hall toward Fifth Avenue, was released on bond after four hours in custody as the case proceeded at Jefferson Police Court.

Identity of wreck victim courts British link

Minneapolis dispatch says the North Dakota wreck victim J D Beresford was a presumed relative of Admiral Lord Charles Beresford of the British Mediterranean fleet. The British Embassy had no information confirming the relation beyond what newspapers reported. Communication to the Washington embassy will occur via the St Paul vice consul and the body is to be embalmed in Minneapolis for transport to England.

Special to The Washington Post New York December 2 Harry K Thaw faced a cold Christmas as his wife, unable to obtain a Sunday holiday visit pass, left a small present for him in the Tombs. Thaw requested a personal gift after discovering the delivery, but his wife had already left. A large teddy bear remained unclaimed until today. Also noted is the 482 prisoner count at the Tombs and the related sentencing of George Burnham Jr for grand larceny to two years at Sing Sing.

Miss Lyman B G Freeman and her uncle B 3 Larrimore died after discharging blank cartridges then loaded rounds during a holiday celebration in Atlanta Georgia. Freeman died this afternoon and Marie Ford age eight died from burns suffered around a Christmas tree this morning.

Special to The Washington Post from Flemington New Jersey December 25 Miss Bessie Hall thirty three year old organist of the Renville Presbyterian church committed suicide by drowning in a cistern at her mother's Beayile home early this morning after a period of nervous trouble She had rehearsed for a Christmas cantata titled Santa Claus and Uncle Sam but withdrew from the entertainment last week She told her mother she desired a drink and then locked the kitchen door opened the cistern trap door cut her throat with a cleaver and jumped in Neighbors found her dead in the water Her death leaves no stated reason and she was popular and financially well off Her role in last night’s entertainment was taken by another performer.
