Alexander Greger former Russian embassy secretary in Washington and Rio de Janeiro horsewhipped Count Roderic du Porzies in the Bola de Boulogne. The count said he was not hurt. A duel was expected after a disputed theft claim involving Greger and Countess Redellec du Forzles at Steras Castle Brittany. The case evolved to slander suits after the count declined a duel.
