Alabama to lead off Taft delegates at 1912 convention
Alabama Republicans name six delegates at large to back President Taft at the 1912 national convention with six more chosen August 31. The move follows factional tensions and aims to secure Taft's renomination while Alabama becomes the first state to vote and the first to have all delegates at large. Meanwhile in Washington a juvenile court judge orders Moy and his American wife to find a suitable home outside the Chinese quarter or the child will be placed in a public or private home.
