School site bought in Southeast Washington for $12000

The Commissioners purchased 20000 square feet for a school and campus after rejecting open bids they deemed overvalued. Joseph Weller, a real estate dealer, closed the deal for half of block 9 bounded by M Third and Fourth streets. Two more sites in Anacostia and Brightwood Park are sought near the city’s center.
