Violence on Brooklyn Elevated as Transit fares trigger chaos

A mob on the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Culver route attacked passengers and guards after a second fare was demanded. An 82-year-old woman, a mother and a boy were forced from a car. Woman Dead Near Trestle at Coney Island Creek

A young woman named Miss Fannie Sabirsky, daughter of Raphael Sabinsky of Brooklyn, was found near a trestle crossing at Coney Island Creek. Powder Plant Explosion Slays Worker and Shocks Town

An explosion at a powder unit sent a blast hundreds of feet, killing Frank Hamilton of Xenia, Ohio, and causing extensive damage. Meridian Mississippi August reports two lives lost as a severe storm drops nearly four inches of rain in an hour. Six year old William Horton was struck by lightning and killed while a Black man drowned as a creek rose rapidly.
