Choir Born in Stable Becomes Washington Heights Church Voice

A small Sunday school group at Washington Heights Presbyterian Church grew from a stable classroom to a flourishing choir. Led by Mrs. Clara Bliss Finley and aided by Mrs. Shep ard and Mrs. Oldberg, the effort drew in future soloists such as Mrs. Thomas De Noyes and Mrs. Royal Robinson. Music flourished under women’s leadership, with soloists and pianists shaping services as the church built a lasting musical tradition.

Fragmentary sermonic lines on duty and divine will

A damaged text presents archaic reflections on serving God and pursuing earthly aims. It notes that worldly search yields little, that Fortunae meets fate in the seeker, and that harm comes to those who follow good, with a sacred encounter between a king and holy men described as a happy day.
