Maniac Leaps From Train Near Cincinnati

Thomas Delehanty of Nashville Tenn leaped from a southbound Louisville and Nashville train near Cincinnati Ohio while being escorted from Manhatten State Hospital for the Insane. He landed on a roof then fought a policeman as he was captured. He was hauled to the track and taken to a hospital with slight injuries.

In Cold Springs Texas on August 4, B. Adame the Democratic nominee for tax assessor was instantly killed. His brother Sam Adame was shot in the head and is believed fatally wounded. W Robertson and Dr W Williamson were wounded Williamson allegedly did most of the shooting.

Bar Harbor Leader Edward Coles Dies in Runaway Crash

Edward Coles a leading Bar Harbor summer colonist and Philadelphia club figure died after a carriage runaway in Bar Harbor. The carriage overturned on Main Street near the fountain. his nurse and grandchild were unhurt. Coles struck a telegraph pole and died within moments despite medical efforts. He was about sixty five, wealthy and longtime Philadelphia Club leader.

Coal Miners in Race Riot at Pittston Mine

A race riot broke out at No 6 mine Erle Company in Pittston Pennsylvania as Italian and Lithuanian miners fought while waiting for powder. Lithuanians were outnumbered five to one, one man fatally stabbed and another seriously hurt. Five others received cuts or bruises. Italians fled the scene. State constabulary restored order and forced workers either to resume or quit company property.

Hugh Kress a bridge carpenter formerly of Williamsport Pennsylvania fell 100 feet from a scaffold he had constructed on the new Connecticut avenue bridge yesterday. He died instantly with a severe head wound. Coroner Negitt ruled accidental death. an inquest was not required. Kress had lived in Washington three years and was unmarried.
