Harry Doobs and Grace Matthewson also married Sunday afternoon in Elnora at 2 o clock. Mrs Dobbs is daughter of Thomas A Matthewson former marshal of Elnora and Mr Dobbs son of John Dobbs. He works in concrete business at Bloomfield where the couple will reside.
The township advisory Board met with Trustee W. L. Brown Friday and agreements were made to erect two new school houses this summer. One at Chelsea and one at Smelser will be brick or concrete and cost about $2,000 each.
W G Carnahan sold eighty acres to W H Gain of Indianapolis for 3200 dollars. The Washington Realty Company arranged the deal and Gain will move from Indianapolis about mid June to take possession.

Mrs Ida Noelting sued William Berkemeier in the Daviess circuit court alleging liquor sales to her intoxicated husband led to a fatal shooting. The trial judge overruled the motion for a new trial and set an appeal bond of sixty days, after Noelting was awarded 500 dollars.
Fréd Wimmenauer a tunnet blacksmith and Grace Carpenter of Algiers were married Wednesday at the bride’s home. The groom is the son of Jake Wimmenauer of Oak Street and runs the Wimmenauer shop on South Street. They will reside in the city. Charles Zollars and Miss Majee Wimmenauer attended. The couple returned home this afternoon.
A surprise party was held at the Tolbert home on West Walnut Street Tuesday for Mrs Ham’s birthday anniversary. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Thai Reever and children, Mr and Mrs M SeTlish, Mr and Mrs Alf Me cat and children, and many others. Refreshments were served.
Shab Af Williams of Wyandot county and Miss Rachael E Michaels were married midweek in the clerk’s office. Williams, a 48 year old farmer, is said to be on his second marriage. Michaels has long resided in Bart township and formerly lived in the groom's hometown. Madison Couple Sou p Sims and Miss Coy Dell Ckthery tied the knot on Saturday at the Squire Kellams in Madison township. Sims, a farmer, wed his bride who hails from the area.
A mob near Reidsville Georgia attacked the home of Flem Padgett and two others. Padgett fired on the crowd killing a white man and injuring four. The mob killed Padgett and two of his daughters and wounded others. They then moved prisoners to the jail and killed two more relatives with buckshot. Authorities fear further trouble as influential locals are implicated.
The Methagist church at Ep 50m will be dedicated Sunday June 2. Rev C Z Asbury of Vincennes will preach the dedication sermon and lead the dedication services. Construction began last year and is complete at a cost over $2 000. During dedication week ministers will preach each evening except Saturday with J W Baker Ward Lowther Denbo Feavenridge Shroyer the present pastor.
Clarence Stewart, barber of East Main Street, returned from a fishing trip near Plainville. He camped beside a creek for four bays and caught a good-sized bite, bringing back about 38 fish to his home.
Bids from four competing companies were opened for dredging the Barr ditch in Vanderburg County Armstrong township. R. A. Brown shad company of Evansville secured the contract with a bid of fourt een and seventeen cents per yard for dredging lat eral feeders and fourteen cents for main ditch work. The ditch will run about five miles from Armstrong township into Posey County once finished. Farmers near the Barr ditch have suffered from its depredations and construction will begin soon after bidding.
Washington neighborhood hosts visiting guests including Mr iLeray Spich and Mrs James Ragsdale. Dr J B Drift returns to Indianapolis. a funeral for Mrs H Singleton draws many relatives and attendees led by Rev J Hadlock. Miss Usie Lett and George Ward wed with a reception following the ceremony.
