Washington boosters plan to purchase an eighty acre tract east of the city, near the college grounds, and turn it into 100 lots at 200 each with space reserved for two factories. Wilson Bros. will be paid 88000. Purchasers pay 850 cash and 12.50 monthly for 12 months, then 8 percent interest on any remainder. Two plants could hire 100 and 150 workers respectively, boosting population by about 600. A committee will solicit buyers from local business leaders.

Wanted carbolic acid case ends in inquest
Lydia R. Johnson a sixteen year old Elmore township girl was declared insane at an inquest in Elnora led by Drs M Py and J Tolliver with Squire J Hastings presiding. The girl feared others planned to harm her and had earlier asked her father Greenville Johnson for carbolic acid to kill herself. She will be sent to Evansville hospital when admitted.
