208 RECEIVE DIPLOMAS
The first annual commencement exercises of the Daviess county schools at the Washington opera house honored 208 graduates. State Superintendent Charles Greathouse delivered the address, praising the era’s opportunities and urging mastery of laws. Diplomas were presented by County Superintendent A. O. Fulkerson amid a large crowd. top honors went to Billa Alsman with 96.4 percent, followed by Willis Pershing and Malissa Scott.

An Auburn automobile driven by L E Scherb of Indianapolis with four Odon men as passengers skidded on the Edwardsport road Monday night near Washington. A horse-drawn buggy and a horse attached behind were involved. the collision tore up the Auburn car as Faith and Chapman, employees of O D B C Company, were en route to Thomas McBride’s farm.

Knights Hold Smokers For Departing Charter Member

Mrs. Salinea Fur fFerson of Madison township was declared a woman of unsound mind by a commission in the court of Justice J. M. Hayes at Odon following an insanity charge. Drs. Jerome DeMotts and J.
