Mattingly Pushes County Local Option Bill With Protections
Mattingly outlines a measure to shield the Nicholson law and Moore amendments while establishing a county local option. The plan allows a 20 percent voter petition to trigger a special election and would make a county dry for four years if a majority favors prohibition. It also proposes a $1000 license fee and a cap of one saloon per 1000 residents.
