City council discussed replacing stone curbing with concrete and brick street crossings. Noah Bogard offered a half cost concrete plan with a bond to protect the city. The meeting adjourned without definite action as six of ten members attended. The West End sewer and recent heavy rains also drew attention.
The rainfall halted grading work and the committee gave no report but it is expected a resolution for a four foot sewer from the B and O S W railroad to the and to the will be offered and passed within weeks.
Henry J. Kramer of Terre Haute and Victoria Dougherty daughter of Mr and Mrs Eugene Dougherty were married at seven this morning at St Simon's Church by Rev J W Doyle. They left on the eight o'clock train for Terre Haute to reside there with many local friends in attendance.
Prof. Charles Killion a former Davie county boy and principal of the Basque school married Miss Fannie Watson at South Bosque Texas. The South Bosque Herald praises his character and notes a wedding dinner afterward. Friends wish the couple lasting happiness. An ad-like closing line touts Dr. Thomas Electric Oil as essential at home.
Joseph J. Lacy, insurance agent and ex-county clerk, named receiver for Dallas Tyler by Judge Cobb in Knox Circuit Court Vincennes. Bond set at 31000. Lacy to collect rents on Tyler property until the 9000 judgment for Anna Davis et al is satisfied or the Supreme Court rules. Tharp and Oxdon & Inman assisted at the Vincennes hearing.
Philander McHenry, newly elected County superintendent, has filled his bond and qualified and will assume office Wednesday. A Hoosier native born near Rockport, Spencer County, he has taught since 1883 and led schools in Paducah and Steele township, balancing farming with teaching. He is a Democrat with socialistic leanings and aims to raise the schools to their highest standard yet.
The retiring superintendent Waillach leaves office after nearly nine years with universal praise from teachers and pupils for his genial disposition and efforts to secure fair pay and longer terms for teachers. He plans a brief vacation then assumes Giorgo in Daviess Circuit Court after last fall election. Local political note: Dixon exits. Tax Gazette backed the Washington township trustee. Democrats face leadership shifts as caucuses nominate Newton Meredith and McHenry allies.
This afternoon bonds for Steele township gravel roads were sold at the Courthouse to Washington National Bank for 830 785 with 585 premium. The bonds draw 43 percent interest from November 15 and portions mature May 15 and November 15 each year until paid.

He stresses government economy, trust curbs, and public office as public trust, while opposing entangling alliances and praising liberty for oppressed peoples.
The Junior class plans a girls spread at Miss Bessie Porter's Mt Airy home tonight. Juniors sophomores and freshmen will banquet the graduates at the High School hall Wednesday evening with songs instrumental numbers and toasts. The Monday Afternoon club met at Masonic hall due to rain and hosted husbands at supper. Mrs Gardiner gave an appropriate address and Mrs Wakefield read an original poem praising the club's year and its members.
