McHenry Elected County Superintendent by Township Trustees
Philander McHenry of Steele township won the county superintendent of schools post via township trustees caucus. Seventeen ballots were cast with McHenry rising to a majority on the final ballot. Other candidates were Dixon Doyle Brown and McCafferty. Beever of Elmore chaired the caucus as ten trustees from multiple townships arrived for the vote.

Clyde Goodwin struck out seventeen in a four to two victory and Washington lost the second game eight to six after late errors.
