Ft Wayne Aug 19 The Kinney and Co bank at Angola has closed its doors and is likely to face bankruptcy. The failure follows County Treasurer George W Williams attempt to withdraw 17 000 belonging to the county, with the bank able to pay only about 5 000.

Shamrock III proved longer on the water line but Reliance carried about two thousand square feet more sail area.
At the yacht club the time allowance for the challenger sparked little surprise as observers believed Reliance would outclass her opponent in size and performance, making the vast sail spread seem a heavy tax on the American boat.

Victor Fassel of Memphis Tennessee drank poison in a small St Louis hotel after renting a room an hour earlier. He was found by the clerk in a dying condition and taken to a hospital. Fassel said he had just returned from Germany and worked in the lumber business in Memphis.
