Leslie Neidig eighteen months old of 203 West Main Street drank from a bottle of concentrated lye. The liquid burned his mouth lips and caused severe swelling. His mother and neighbors aided him with sweet oil and sugar and he will not eat solid food for days. It is believed he drank slowly enough to spit out most of the poison.
Miss Eunice Whayne hosted the Revelers Club on George Street Friday with Flinch games and a Zoo contest won by Barry Yelch. Vocal music came from Dorothy Yelch Luna Smoot Eunice Whayne Bernice Gorby and Arthur Greenwood and Roy Medcalf provided instrumental music.
Mary McCormick hosts a social event with refreshments of ice cream and cake. Joseph McConk and William Chapman, Martin county farmers near Alfordsville, were thrown from a buggy when a team of young mules bolted near the State road. They crossed an overhead bridge to Walnutstat, nearly upset during the turn, and were severely bruised but not seriously hurt. The mules, returning to John Davis’s Walnut street home, were halted. both animals had leg and foot injuries.
Nicholas Dant of Buren township was tried in Squire Wallace's court for dangerous insanity and found guilty by a jury. He was ordered confined in jail with another bid to admit him to the Evansville insane hospital, where admission was previously refused for lack of evidence of danger.
Washington pitcher Clyde Goodwin pitched eleven innings, allowing three runs and eight hits with nine strikeouts, but Evansville lost to Wheeling in Wheeling West Virginia. The defeat came despite his strong effort and a late Evansville rally in the ninth and extra innings.

Relatives in this city received word today announcing the death of Mrs. Tom Allan of Norwood Ohio. She was the wife of Tom Allen formerly of Dana Indiana who had often visited his cousins J G and W B Allen in this city. He was here on a visit three years ago and a few weeks later he was married.
