Washington to Hold May Carnival at Old Fair Grounds
The Capital City Carnival company of Indianapolis will stage a week long carnival from May 25 to 30 at the old Washington fair grounds. Local volunteers run the event though the Washington Commercial club with business leaders not backing it. The organizers promise a clean show, hoping to draw large crowds despite lingering street fair prejudices and opposition to immoral attractions seen at past fairs.
