The Elnora saloon license case before the county commissioners is expected to conclude today as most witnesses have testified. Local observers doubt Richardson will receive the license and mock charges, including remonstrance withdrawals, are examined, with allegations about Richardson’s character and a past shooting.
The May 4 election in Elnora pits the Citizens ticket advocating temperance against the Peoples ticket. Arch Yhzal leads the wets camp pushing for saloons in a heated contest.

Habeas corpus action by McClillan Pride for custody of his children postponed to the June term. Mrs Pride, who recently divorced Pride, married Thomas Taylor and moved to Madison township, retaining custody while Pride seeks custody. Also notes ministers Estes and Spoonts visiting Harrodsburg and Duluth and Mrs Estes planning study and reunion with husbands.

Aged 87 Braceville Knox county resident Mrs Elizabeth T Baird widow of Andrew Baird died Sunday at her Braceville home. Born in New York in 1815 she moved to Knox county with Washington Fairhurst in 1833. She leaves four children Adolphus D Fairhurst Mrs John Mason George W Fairhurst and Mrs Hattie Utt. Funeral Monday by Rev W J Traut. Burial at Braceville.
Announcements list a piano recital by Sara L Neal of this city at DePauw University School of Music on Wednesday night. She is a university junior and a noted musician, with recent favorable reception to her song recital. Accompanists include Ross Baker and Miss Ednardine. programme features Beethoven Bohm Schumann Chopin and Fadassohn selections and a singing trio.
Thomas Fair returns to duty after a mashed foot. Walter Stein voted at Mt. Carmel. Conductor Lon Koutt arrived from St. Louis. James Glenn starts at the shops in Plainville. The Baltimore and Ohio Southwestern carried 2263 excursionists, 1618 to Cincinnati, with Carothers and others en route to New York for a railway meeting. A special train from New Bedford bound for the Portuguese Islands sailed from San Francisco with 140 aboard. Train No. 1 arrived with a broken engine, local engine assisting to Washington. Southern Indiana surveyors J F Cassel and others were seen en route Terry Haute to Pike county for Evansville extension surveys. Americus Donnels resigns to tend a Loveland farm in Ohio.
Governor Durbin has appointed a leading citizen to head the Indiana St. Louis expo commission. The group will meet in Indianapolis to elect a president secretary and an executive committee of five. Members include Henry Marshall Fremont Goodwine and James Cockrum. They plan the state exhibit for the next year’s fair and will travel to St Louis for the exposition dedication.
