Choral Glee Club Hosts At Two Athens Homes

Miss Mollie Cherry and Miss Bell Hall hosted the Athens Tenn Choral Glee club gatherings at their homes in South Washington and near the post office area. Members praised the hospitality and expressed appreciation for the welcome.

A northern county couple exchanged vows at Benziolle in a small ceremony. Friends and relatives attended as the couple began married life together.

Real estate transfers dated September 20–27 include multiple parcels in Winfield and neighboring areas. Remains of Edward McCormick from St Paul, Neb arrived in Winfield for mass and burial at St James church. The Ministerial Association met at Rev Logue’s home to plan fall sessions. W R Jeffrey, cider-maker, reported a missing half barrel stolen overnight with no clue.

Mackay Opera Company Extends Engagement at Zoological Gardens

The Mackay Opera Company opened at the Zoological Gardens on July 6, 1897, with four weeks planned but extended three times due to crowd demand.
