Brief funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Hotle of Moline Illinois. Rev. Ray Honeywell officiated at Riverside cemetery. Juvenile Court Hears Five Boys In Horse Theft Case
Judge Frank Beechly continued the juvenile court case of five youths aged eight to thirteen involved in stealing a saddle horse, three saddles, a bridle, and other items from Lloyd Augustine. The boys face potential committal to the Toledo Iowa state institution if further complaints arise. All were given a second chance in a private hearing.

Bug and Cigarette Spark Rural Collision Near Columbus Junction

Barn Fire Destroys Hay Barn on Glen Martin Farm
A large hay barn and its contents burned yesterday on the Glen Martin farm one mile south of West Chester after wind carried flames from a trash burn. Other farm buildings were saved by the Farmers Mutual fire truck from Washington and local departments in West Chester and Keota. The house was spared as the wind blew the fire away.
