Farm land sells for near record price in Oregon sale
One of the top per acre prices ever paid for Washington County farm land was reached in the auction sale of the Muriel Witting estate Saturday. The 117 improved acres located 7 miles southeast of Washington in Oregon were purchased by adjoining landowner Bill Koehler for $181,350 or $1,550 an acre. Another Oregon township sale Saturday to settle the Kenneth McConnell estate sold the 80 acre farm near Ainsworth school for $970 per acre to Dennis Stout. County Assessor H Ernest Lund said the Witting sale may be the top figure for land in the southeast portion of the county, with the northwest still holding the record at $1,725 per acre.
