Cold War Flare as Reds Cut Power to West Berlin
Berlin reports a Russian sector power company will cut electricity to the western sector at midnight after arrests of East Berlin police in reprisal for Western Berlin detentions. Eastern Berlin supplies about 850000 kilowatt hours daily to the west, nearly half of all Allied consumption. Egg truck plunges into river. only nine eggs broken
BLUFFTON Ind AP Harry Lantz says he was loading 40 cases of eggs onto a parked truck when it rolled toward the Wabash River. The truck bed wedged between two trees and the cab tipped into the water with a jolt. Lantz reported nine eggs broke in the accident.
No New Developments In City Employees Strike
No new developments were reported in the city workers walkout as street department staff largely stayed away while other city operations continued. Police and fire departments remained on regular shifts and officials planned to hire replacements for those not returning to work.
Y's Men Hear Mexico City Convention Reports

Former Resident Dies In Cedar Rapids Home
Mrs. Blanche Kephart Walker, formerly of Washington, died in Cedar Rapids after moving there 43 years ago.
