Baltimore banker Morrison commits suicide amid racing scandal
George Morrison president of the Title Guarantee and Trust company in Baltimore killed himself with gas in a private room of the Baltimore Athletic Club. The note cited newspaper attacks on his racing interests at Havre de Grace and a desire to avoid what he called yellow reporting. Grand jury probes Hartford county racing matter as Governor Goldsborough accused Morrison of misrepresentations and corruption.
