Pedestrian struck in Brighton fatal accident
A 76 year old Brighton man, Edward Weidner, died after being struck by an automobile at 6 30 PM in heavy rain near the high school. James Myrl Morgan, 56, of Brighton said he did not see Weidner until the impact. Weidner died about five hours later at Washington County Hospital from internal injuries. Funeral services are set for Friday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

John W. Cox aged 79 of Ottumwa died Tuesday in St Josephs Hospital after a five year illness. He was the father of Mrs Hugh Dougall of Washington and survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
