One Killed In Road Accident Near Spirit Lake Iowa
A head-on crash on a highway near Spirit Lake last night killed Lawrence Clark 28 of Spencer. Three others from Spencer including Leo Cooper 21 and Ed Gienneart 23 were critically injured. John Eckerd 20 of Milford was seriously hurt. Clark’s death was Dickinson county’s first traffic fatality since April 1944.

Richard C. Miller, member of a Washington family, died yesterday in the Tacoma veterans hospital after years of poor health. The body will be brought to Washington for burial with services at Sherman’s funeral home and Elm Grove cemetery burial. Born November 21, 1889, he was a World War I veteran serving with Army Engineers in France, discharged July 21, 1919. He studied at Washington High School, University of Chicago, and attended the University of Pales. He had two brothers, Sol and Barclay. Barclay resides in St. Louis.
