The Washington YMCA begins its Fall and Winter schedule with activities for all ages. A free swim occurred today at 1 pm, with family swimming at 6 30 to 8 pm and men and boys swimming from 8 8 to 9 pm. Monday features third and fourth graders’ instruction from 5 to 5 45 pm, plus family swim 6 30 to 8 pm. The lobby opens 9 am to 9 pm. Survivors include two brothers Peter F and Louis and two sisters Mrs Adaline Johnson and Mrs Max Hulme, plus many nieces and nephews.

A two seat Civil Air Patrol light plane escaped its pilot and flew for about two hours over Burlington. It circled near the airport and threatened a college hospital and an elementary school before crashing in a cornfield four miles west of Sedon, Illinois. Bumgardner suffered abrasions and was hospitalized. He could not explain the incident.
