Funeral of A. E. Wheeler Monday
Funeral services for A E Wheeler of Ainsworth are set for 2 30 PM Monday at the Methodist church with burial in the Ainsworth cemetery. The body arrives Sunday night from Higstone D D and will be taken to Shermans funeral home before the service. He was the last Civil War soldier in Ainsworth and served in Company G Third Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery. Prominent Iowa Figure Kenyon Dies at 64 in Maine
William S. Kenyon 64 of Fort Dodge Iowa district court judge died of heart disease at his summer home in SEBASCO Maine after weeks of illness. He was a 1922 appointee to the federal bench by President Harding and a former U S senator. Kenyon helped author the Webb Kenyon act enforcing prohibition. He was born June 10 1869 in Ohio and rose from Webster County prosecutor to district judge and U S attorney general aide before serving in the Senate until 1922.
