Charity horse show planned at Washington County fairgrounds
Plans are complete for a charity horse show at the Washington County fairgrounds on Sunday. Profits will benefit the Washington County Developmental Center for the Handicapped. Halter classes begin at 10 a.m. with other events at 1 p.m. Admission is 1, children under 12 free. Rhonda Seering, 5, of Washington, remains in satisfactory condition in the ICU at Mercy Hospital Iowa City after being struck by a car on East Washington Street Thursday morning. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. James R. Green. injuries not released.

Fire injures ceiling at Glover's Car Wash
A small fire damaged the ceiling of the manual wash bay at Glover's Car Wash around 12 30 p m today. Washington volunteer firemen extinguished the blaze saying it started in the attic and electrical wiring is the likely cause. The automatic wash bay remained unharmed.

Ambulance Hits Car. One Vehicle Down In Washington County
One Booth Ambulance remains in service after a crash in Iowa City on a Thursday transfer run to Mercy Hospital. Driver Dick Burns said a car entered the intersection on a green light, but no witnesses or charges were filed. The damaged front end was towed to Washington. repair costs and a replacement budget are under review. Backups from two local funeral homes are on standby if more than one vehicle is needed.
