Ayers Sentenced To Year at Ft. Madison
Dale Ayers 43 of Wellman received a one year term in the Fort Madison penitentiary after pleading guilty to assault to do great bodily injury in Sigourney before Judge R G Yoder. He had been jailed since Saturday following a knifing in Wellman in which his stepdaughter Janice Karr 12 was cut. Janice was reported improving as Ayers later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of assault to commit murder and was moved to Sigourney for district court sessions.
