Seven cars and the church bus carried about 63 members of the Christian Tabernacle congregation to Moline Illinois on Monday for an annual Labor Day convention at Gospel Temple. A chicken dinner was served at noon and in the evening. Mrs Dal Bower presided on the afternoon speaking program. A painted mirror was awarded to the largest out of town delegation, won by the Washington group.

Funeral held today for Kalona resident Etta Williams
Funeral services were planned today at her home near Kalona for Etta May Williams who died Monday in the same house she moved to as a bride. Burial was at Shar on Hill cemetery Walona. Survivors include four children two sisters and two brothers a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
