Will Lemley of Osborne Kansas visited after the Lemley reunion, spent time with Mrs Tom Carris and James Lemley, and attended The Ingram Tent Show with Winnifred Carris. Franklin Centre school opened with fifteen pupils. Remember Hardscrabble picnic Saturday Sept 4. Linger Longer club met with Mrs Tom Carris with good attendance.

Three men electrocuted for March murder in Ohio
In Ohio State Prison near Columbus three inmates from Pomeroy were executed for the March 15 slaying of James McCumber. John Bryant, Richard Rhoades, and John Hedrick died within 31 minutes as Ohio carried out its first triple execution. Bryant had paid others to kill McCumber. Hedrick stated he told the truth in the case.

An estimated two thousand people attended the third annual Dutch Creek fair on the picnic grounds despite wet weather. The event featured horse shoe pitching and foot races, speeches by Col. S. W. Brookhart and Alex Miller, band music, a supper by Valley church women, and a pioneer pageant depicting life in the Midwest. Rev. Carl W. Klein led organizing efforts with local support, while Brookhart and Miller addressed topics from roads to politics in a spirited community gathering.
