Iowa highway deaths rise to 21 in weekend toll
United Press reports Iowa recorded 21 highway fatalities over the weekend described by state safety officials as one of the bloodiest periods. Among the dead were Allison Eberhardt 20 of Manchester killed after being struck by a truck while riding a bicycle and John Edwards 61 and his wife Georgie 59 of St Paul killed when their car left the road south of Iowa City. A Burlington ordnance plant worker, George Edwards, was injured.

She died Sunday at the Clear Lake home of her daughter Mrs Chauncey Merwin after visiting there three weeks. She lived in Lexington, later in Chicago, and then with son Arthur B Eyestone in Freeport Illinois. Surviving are four children Win W. of Fairfield Charles L. of Brighton Alice Merwin of Clear Lake and Arthur B. of Freeport 28 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
