The UNICEF drive in Washington collected 1679 dollars by Sunday evening. Co chairs Rev John McCorkell and Rev Duncan Nichol urged residents to mail gifts to the United Methodist or United Presbyterian churches for deposit into the overall fund. Organizers thanked many adults and youths for their time and efforts.

Burlington Man arraigned in stabbing of teen

Dennis Berger of Wellman and his family farms 817 acres near Wellman Iowa. He is Region 7 East Central Iowa sweepstakes winner in the 22nd Iowa Soil Conservation Achievement Awards Program.
